Maureen Jordan is a lawyer who found her niche in publishing in order to survive the hectic world of career and family. She publishes her own small business series of magazines which are educational quarterly titles aimed to support the crowded but often isolated small business sector.

She also wrote and edited Deutsche Bank Solutions magazine which goes out to 30,000 of the bank's high profile clients.

Maureen also edits a magazine for the Quality Society of Australasia on management and leadership matters and publishes a monthly newsletter called the Advisor on industrial law issues for the Employers Federation of New South Wales.

Maureen is a passionate advocate of demystifying the language of money and understanding your customer.

She believes that a good financial planner must become an inspirational communicator.

Some issues she deals with are:

1. You might be a financial planner but you are also in sales.
2. What do you think you're selling?
3. What does your client think you're selling?
4. The language customers want to hear.
5. Do you know what your client understands?
6. At what point do you lose your customer ?
7. How to beat the glaze eye effect.
8. How do you come to know what your client does not understand?
9. How do you educate without boring and losing your customer?

Testimonials

On behalf of the ABN, we want to thank you so much for MC'ing the Expo. You did a terrific job and scored very highly on our feedback forms – 8.7 out of 10! It turned out to be an amazing day and we couldn't have done it without you. Thanks again.

Just a quick note to thank you for your presentation at our firm's Women in Tax luncheon last week. Your presentation was very warmly received and several people mentioned to me how much they enjoyed it.

Your comments were inspirational, and at the same time, the way in which you presented the need to balance both work and personal goals was realistic and honest so as to make it very easy for us to relate to your message. You really are a great speaker. Thank you once again.
