Remo is a creative director and curator with a long track record as an entrepreneur, connector and brand builder. He founded the REMO General Store in 1988; the General Thinking network in 2001; TEDxSydney (Australias leading ideas forum) in 2009 and Bondi Observer (with wife Melanie) in 2015.

Prior to founding REMO, Remo worked as a lawyer in Sydney with the global firm Baker & McKenzie and then as a consultant to a number of communications businesses in Australia and the US. He was the Director of Branding & Strategy at frog design in Silicon Valley from 1997, and later the resident Brand Strategist at pioneering online developer Organic in New York.

Remo earned combined Commerce and Law degrees from the University of New South Wales, and an MBA with top honours from Columbia Universitys Graduate School of Business in New York; majoring in marketing, organisational behaviour and communications management.

Although not formally trained as a creative director; he has been dreaming, designing and doodling for much of his life, best exemplified by his RemoGram visualisations. Browse a selection of those HERE.

In 2014 Remo applied his skills as a merchant and communicator with trademark candour to his own life as an entrepreneur and brand builder. General Thinker is a visual memoir of interwoven stories that examines the experiences both great successes and brilliant failures that have guided and shaped him along the way. Its a book about work. Its a book about love. Its about him, but also about all of us.

His most recent endeavour (launching in October 2023) is a book series called REMORANDOM, a community-sourced and printed curation of snack-sized facts, stories, ideas and observations designed to inform and entertain a global community of curious readers. Everything interesting.

Remo splits his time between Bondi Beach and Coba Point north of Sydney on the Hawkesbury River. He lives with his wife Melanie and a small black dog named Olive. He has two children: Lola (28, living with partner Gijs and working as a mechanical engineer and a jeweller in the Netherlands), and Roman (24, an artist and surfer).

Optimism drives him. Believing that his best work lies AHEAD keeps him young and foolish.
