James began his career as a musican. He was a prominent saxophone player during the 1980s working with Models, Absent Friends, Jo Camilleri, Kate Ceberano and Wendy Matthews. On television he presented the Afternoon Show on ABC Children�s TV, has been entertainment reporter for Sunrise, Midday and Good Morning Australia, made Showtime Movie News for Foxtel, is the voice of Come Dine With Me Australia and has even popped up on Playschool.

He has written several books of humour based on his radio program and a science fiction series JumpMan for younger readers.

He is married to Joanne a clinical psychologist and has two teenage children.

As host of the live afternoon Radio program on 702 ABC Sydney, James is a terrifically engaging speaker and a writer of a great range. Each two hour program is entirely written by James, it's often very funny, sometimes serious, always enlightening.
