Stuart MacGill is a former Australian cricketer who specialised in leg spin bowling.

Born in Mount Lawley, Perth, Stuart comes from a cricketing family with both his father and grandfather playing state cricket for Western Australia.

During his career Stuart was widely perceived to be Australia's second best leg-spinner behind Shane Warne.

Stuart is credited to have the best strike rate of any modern leg spin bowler, taking 208 wickets at 29.03 with a strike rate of 54.0
He is a high achiever and a quiet achiever who loves cricket and appreciates his food and wine.

Stuart has studied wine marketing, has written for wine publications including Selector Magazine and had a weekly column in the Sunday Magazine (The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Herald Sun magazine supplement)s. He also boasts an extensive wine cellar.

In 2007, Stuart's passion for wine saw him host and co-produce his own television show Stuart MacGill Uncorked on LifeStyle FOOD Channel on Foxtel. A six-part wine series, Stuart MacGill Uncorked won an ASTRA Award in 2008. Due to the success of Series 1 of Uncorked, The Lifestyle FOOD Channel commissioned a second series which went to air on November 8, 2008.

Stuart's television appearances also include co-presenting the food series Saturday Kitchen on Channel Seven and numerous guest appearances on programs including Enough Rope with Andrew Denton, The Fat, Sports World, Under the Grandstand and Fox Sports.

In 2009 Stuart anchored SBS Television's exclusive free to air broadcast of the Ashes Series.

In 2010 and 2011 Stuart co-hosted Sydney's Triple M Breakfast Show, The Grill Team.

In July 2011 NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, announced the appointment of Stuart to the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust. Stuart will serve a four-year term from 14 July, 2011.

Stuart is currently a marketing executive and makes regular media appearances on Fox Sports and free-to-air networks and radio stations in Australia and abroad.

He is a sought after speaker and MC on topics including sports achievement and success, wine and food and business success.
