After 25 years in the media one thing is for sure, Symantha is never bored. She loves that there's always a new challenge around the corner.
Having suffered crippling migraine headaches since the age of 5, Symantha had a radical operation around 2006 to implant an IPG device (similar to a pacemaker/TENS machine) along her spine and neck to manage pain which dramatically improved her life.
Despite my constant health struggles Symantha has always believed a sense of humour (hers is a bit wicked), a bright smile, raucous laughter and a positive attitude helps through the many rough patches. Sometimes you just have to fake it till you make it, no matter how severe the head pain is.
So with a bit of luck and a LOT of hard work Symantha has enjoyed a successful and varied career spanning TV, print and radio. She's reported in Japan after Earthquakes, interviewed Prime Ministers, hovered over bush fires flames almost licking at the helicopter. She's travelled to almost every continent with the kids on assignment as a family feature writer - the Italian Alps, Broome and The Kimberley, South Africa and Colorado. She's headlined the catwalk at the MYER Mural Hall during fashion week and modelled in countless magazines, catalogues and for iconic brands.
She is a warm MC for corporate and charity events.
