For over a decade and a half, Terry McCrann has provided critical analysis on the wide range of events and personalities that have shaped the nation, from the entrepreneurs to the politicians. And, he has been at the centre of many of the great controversies and debates that have erupted over the Hawke-Keating years.

Educated at Melbourne Grammar and Monash University where he obtained an Honors Degree in Economics, Terry joined The Sun News-Pictorial in 1970. During the course of his duties there he pencilled at the Stock Exchange.

Terry was appointed Finance Editor of the Sun in 1975 and then Finance Editor of The National Times in 1976. After 11 years, he left to take up the position of Business Editor of The Age in 1978.

Terry joined The Herald in June 1987 as Associate Editor and now reaches the biggest audience of any columnist in Australia.

His daily column on business and economic affairs is syndicated in 1.5 million papers; the Herald Sun in Melbourne, The Telegraph Mirror in Sydney, Brisbane's Courier Mail, The Adelaide Advertiser and the Hobart Mercury. Terry also writes a column in The Weekend Australian which has a circulation of nearly 400,000 across Australia, and on Sundays appears in the Sunday Herald Sun, the Sunday Telegraph Mirror and various other papers. He also provides a weekly commentary on business and the economy on the Nine Network's Business Sunday program.

He is a former Graham Perkin Journalist of the year, Financial Journalist of the year, and winner of the Melbourne Press Club's Golden Quill Award.

Terry has a reputation for forceful, perceptive analysis that is free of jargon and accessible to the non-expert. For this reason, he is in demand as a speaker to a wide range of audiences.
