Michaella Solar-March

Michaella is the former host of Up For It, the breakfast show of popular Sydney community radio station FBi 94.5 FM, whose listenership in just four short years expanded dramatically. Michaella worked the breakfast shift on FBi part-time since 2005. Michaella has interviewed many mainstream and indie Australian and international acts such as Midnight Juggernauts, Gotye, French superstars Justice and pop sensation Robyn.

Michaella's expansive music knowledge has also led her to conduct and write interviews and feature articles for online music magazine Groupie, for which she has interviewed New Young Pony Club from the UK, The City Lights and Yelle. She is also a regular contributor to Pages, a fashion and emerging trends journal that has approximately 30 000 subscribers and hundreds of online daily hits, writing pieces on new bands and music genres.

In 2007, Michaella has judged and emceed several events, including judging the Kickstart Band Competition Sydney Final for MTV, judging for the Australia wide competition nominations for the Jack Awards, and being on the panel for the Cocktail World Cup Sydney Final, hosted by 42 Below Vodka. She was also a brand ambassador for Nokia and the MC for the “Play Now/Act Now” Australian Final held by Metro Screen.

She has naturally branched out into DJ work, most recently DJing at the Heaps Decent Benefit Fundraiser, which aimed to raise funds and help young indigenous and underprivileged artists. She also regularly DJ'd on Friday nights at World Bar, cult indie night Purple Sneakers and at FBi's 4th birthday party.

Michaella is also a freelance voice over artist having done work for clients such as Channel Ten Australian Idol 2007 series, Modular Records, Universal Records, Telstra Bigpond and BMW.
