David Galbally is one of Australia's best know lawyers and Queens Council and is the son of Australia's greatest criminal lawyer Frank Galbally. David is best known in the media as the legal commentator on 3AW's top rating Neil Mitchell program and as the host of the Nine Network's consumer affairs program 'Watchdog'.
David is an astute and articulate expert. He can be called upon to analyse or comment on news events or general issues relating to the legal system, crime, corporate conduct and social concerns. He is very much at the cutting-edge of change and was recently described as a 'shaper of opinion, thought and events'.
During his career, David has been involved in numerous high profile trials including representing James Bazley (charged with the murder of Douglas and Isabelle Wilson and the conspiracy to murder Donald McKay), Demiran (charged over the bombing of the Turkish consulate in South Yarra), Alistair Lynch in the AFL drug case and the Mexican banker, Carlos Cabal. He has appeared in more than a dozen murder trials with his father.
His past sporting appointments include the Chairman of the Melbourne Knights Soccer Club and Board Member of the Collingwood Football Club. He is currently the Chairman of the Royal Children's Hospital's Centre for Hormone Research and Chairman of the Transport Workers Union and the TranSuper Superannuation Funds.
