Speakers Profile - Ant and Becks

Travels From:
Melbourne

There is a bit of a buzz about these boys. Comparisons have been made but watch out Sydney and Melbourne - there are some new kids in town. Ant and Becks front the new drive show Ant & Becks 4-7pm Weekdays on Mix 106.5 Sydney and Mix 101.1 Melbourne.

Both hailing originally from Melbourne, Ant cut his teeth on two university comedy revues while studying at Melbourne University. As a leading voiceover talent he is keen to pursue TV presenting roles and perform sketch comedy. Whilst Becks is an accomplished stand-up comic, like most blokes he's into sports, cars, bikes, the entire box of big boys toys!

Ant and Becks have come a long way to become the new drive show Ant & Becks 4-7pm Weekdays. It all started in 2003 in the Media studios of RMITV and SYN FM at RMIT Melbourne. Both were cutting their teeth in student media, Ant as the production manager and host of "The Milk Bar" on SYN FM and Becks as a segment presenter and host on RMITV. After hitting it off at a chance on set meeting, Ant invited Becks to co-host The Milk Bar for a week and the rest as they say, is history.

After the success of The Milk Bar, Becks pursued a radio career with the then RG Capital on Mix 106.3 breakfast, Townsville, while Ant remained in Melbourne to
complete his LLB/BA at Melbourne University. After 2 years up north, Becks convinced his bosses to listen to some of the pairs work and they were offered breakfast on Star FM 94.3/97.9 Gippsland in 2006.

After a few months on air in Gippsland, the boys were asked to take up the soon to be vacated network drive shift across the then Macquarie Regional Radioworks Network. In 2007, Broadcasting out of the Gold Coast to 46 markets, "The Benchwarmers with Ant and Becks" was born.

After three successful years and back to back Australian Commercial Radio awards for best Networked show later, The Ant and Becks Show arrived at Mix 106.5 Sydney and Mix 101.1 Melbourne. The boys are well and truly off the bench.
