Sally Loane joined the FSC as Chief Executive Officer in December 2014.
Prior to this she had a long career in the corporate sector, working at Coca-Cola Amatil from 2006-2014 as the Director of Media and Public Affairs, and in the media industry, where she worked as a journalist for Australia's major print, radio and television media organisations for more than 25 years.
She spent five and a half years as a broadcaster for ABC radio in Sydney where she hosted the Morning program on 702 ABC Sydney. She worked as a journalist, columnist and feature writer for The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Sun, The Courier-Mail, the Sun Herald and The National Times, and as a newsreader/reporter on Channel 10.
Sally spent several years in the press gallery in Parliament House, Canberra. She also has extensive experience as a professional mentor, public speaker and MC.
Sally is a published author. Her first book, 'Who Cares: Guilt, Hope and the Child-Care Debate', an investigative examination of the child care industry, was published in 1997, and she has contributed to many other publications, including the books 'My Sporting Hero' and 'What Women Want', as well as magazines.
Sally grew up on a wool-growing property near Tenterfield, NSW and the sale of her family's property was featured on the ABC's Australian Story. She is married to ControlBionics CEO and former CNN correspondent Peter Ford, who was also subject of an Australian Story episode.
Sally has two adult children. She is a director of Waratahs Rugby, a governor of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, deputy chair of the Committee for Sydney, a director of Avner Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, an Ambassador for Business Events Sydney and a member of Chief Executive Women.
She chaired the Salvation Army's Sydney East Doorknock Appeal from 2008-2011.
