A pop-culture junkie with a mad love of sports, Mieke's portfolio of TV and radio work is as diverse as she is.

Kicking off her media career by hosting the weekend edition of World Sports at SBS, Mieke went on to provide the on-field coverage for 5 Super Bowls, interview Sydney 2000 Olympic athletes, and work on the daily coverage of the Korea/Japan Soccer World Cup during her time with the network. Her sporting background also saw her working with the National Geographic channel, writing and hosting a series of high-profile athlete interviews, and documentary introductions, called Sports Sunday.

Mieke indulged her love of all things cinematic in her role with Fox 8, in 2001 and 2002. As the host of Entertainment Extra, she interviewed Anthony Hopkins, Susan Sarandon, Matt Damon, Pierce Brosnan, Ashton Kutcher and countless other rather flashy stars. She also co-hosted the national Sex IQ test, with Paul McDermott.

'Meeks' also became a regular fixture on Beauty and the Beast, in the 2000 -- 2002 seasons, where she developed a reputation for her unconventional and flamboyant opinions, and willingness to debate them with a high degree of enthusiasm.

In 2002, Mieke was nominated for a LOGIE Award in the 'best new female category' the same year she graced the cover of FHM, and was featured in its annual 'hottest females' edition (she no longer wears suede bikinis for press shots. She draws the line at bike-shorts).

In 2003 Mieke found herself in America working for Fox Sports USA, as a correspondent on the nightly 'Best Damn Sports Show'. She then went on to work on several other series for the network, including -- 'Head to Head' -- A 60 minutes for sports series, where Mieke interviewed and profiled newsworthy and topical American sporting figures. She also hosted a number of celebrity and professional poker series, all of which have aired internationally.

During her time in America, Mieke worked simultaneously with ABC/ESPN, as host of their Celebrity Poker Pro-Am series, and on a series called 'Golfing for Beginners', in which she worked with famed Tiger Woods swing doctor, Hank Haney.

Tennis Channel also acquired Mieke's services as host of their sports travel series 'Destination Tennis'. This saw Mieke venturing to the best sports resorts in the world, and hitting the fluff of a few thousand tennis balls with tennis luminaries like Roy Emmerson, and Jim Courier. The show then expanded to include Mieke's other sporting loves, like kayaking and rock climbing. Naturally, fine wine and food came with the territory. This series ran for 5 seasons, and was syndicated to 30 territories throughout Europe and Asia. Destination saw Mieke going behind the scenes at Nascar, jumping out of planes in the Nevada desert, and climbing thousands of feet up a glacier to learn how to make a rare and valuable Austrian cheese. The series ventured from Spain to Switzerland, Aspen to Montreal. It was far from dull.

During her time with the Tennis Channel Mieke also provided side-line reporting, post-match player interviews and colour stories, for major US and European tennis tournaments. She also hosted nightly reports for grand-slam coverage in 'French Open Tonight', and the Wimbledon nightly wrap show. She has interviewed Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Serena and Venus Williams, Kournikova, Sharpova and even Navratilova, many times. As always, her reputation preceded her, and she has always managed to get some genuine personality and humour out of these notoriously guarded professional athletes.

Not content with the busy world of professional sports, Mieke also managed to host a weekly film review series, Previews, for the STC channel, during her years in the states. At 250+ episodes, that's a lot of celluloid. A hi-light during this time was her in-depth interview with Kevin Costner, during a day at the ranch. She also hosted several awards specials, and 2 years of movie introductions, for the Encore movie channel.

Back in Australia late 2009, Mieke joined the Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire, on Melbourne's Triple M. Over her 2 years with the show, Mieke's very honest interview with Russell Brand stands out as a hi-light.

Mieke is currently shooting the second season of Australian road-trip travel show, 'Making Tracks'. This season has seen Mieke pulling on waders to go fly fishing in Jamieson Vic, eating oysters straight from the ocean in Port Vincent SA, and riding brumbies in the spectacular Victorian high country made famous by 'The Man from Snowy River'. Making Tracks airs Saturday afternoons, 3.30pm, on Channel 10. Starts again Oct 22.
