Susanne Latimore is Australia's most experienced 24 hour television news presenter. As part of the team that launched Sky News in Australia, Susanne has clocked up an extraordinary amount of live news coverage, occupying the hot seat for some sixteen years.
Susanne is known for bringing a particular warmth and humanity to her presenting style which has earnt her many high profile fans.
Some of her career highlights include scoring the last interview with Prime Minister John Howard prior to his 2007 election defeat, reporting from the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and hosting Sky's first ever news feature program Duty of Care.
During her time at Sky News, Susanne has co-hosted Sky's high rating news hours alongside Terry Willesee and John Mangos and anchored many of the biggest breaking news stories of the last two decades including the Bali bombings, Asian Tsunami, Queensland floods and the Christchurch earthquake.
Susanne was invited to facilitate the inaugural Australian Women in Television breakfast for ASTRA, interviewing legendary CNN foreign correspondent Jill Dougherty. She has also supported the Chequered Ribbon Association as MC for the annual Ball in memory of Federal Police killed in the line of duty.
Prior to joining Sky News Susanne trained in radio and worked her way up to senior editor/news reader for radio station 2WS in Sydney's Greater West.
She began her career with an old-school grounding in local journalism, completing a cadetship with two local papers, the Blacktown Guardian and The Hills News.
Outside of work Susanne is busy raising her two kids along with husband Ryan. She has also developed a deep interest in psychology that has led her to study part-time for a counselling degree at Wesley Institute.
A sports fan (particularly tennis and cricket) and avid reader, Susanne's other interests include pastel drawing, painting, gardening and keeping chooks.
