After a long career as a print and television journalist, Patrick Lindsay is now a best-selling author and public speaker.
His fifth book, Happiness, the second in the on-going It's Never Too Late ... series, was launched in July. It was followed in late August by Patrick's sixth book, The Essence of Kokoda, a concise, accessible hardback edition of the battles that saved Australia.
His fourth book, Back from the Dead, was launched in October 2003. It's the story of the Bali bombings through the eyes of man who became the human face of the tragedy, Peter Hughes. His third book, The Spirit of The Digger, was launched by General Peter Cosgrove in August 2003. Told through the words and actions of the Diggers themselves, it explores the essence of the Australian soldier and how he differs from other soldiers.
Both books have gone into multiple reprintings and have hit the best-sellers' lists. These latest works follow Patrick's earlier best-seller, The Spirit of Kokoda, which was launched in August 2002. It spent nine weeks in the best sellers' lists and continues to sell well.
He subsequently published It's Never Too Late, a motivational book that was released in November 2002.
2007 saw the release of two books by Lindsay, Cosgrove... Portrait of a Leader and Heart of a Champion - the Greg Welch Story.
Prior to writing fulltime, Patrick had leading roles on the Nine Network's Today, Sunday, Wide World of Sports, Sports Sunday, Australia's Funniest Home Video Show, Street Stories and A Current Affair Summer Edition; Foxtel's Lifestyle Channel; and Seven's Today Tonight, The Games and Sportsworld.
He was one of the presenters of Nine's No 1 rating info-tainment program, then, for four seasons, he was a presenter of the national ratings success, "Money", again on Nine. Patrick was a reporter for the Seven Network's Sydney 2000 Olympic Games coverage and also produced Seven's Olympic TVC vignettes in the lead-up to and during the broadcast of the Games.
He has also reported, written and presented documentaries and feature series in Los Angeles, New York, Hawaii, France, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, London, Romania and Papua New Guinea. Prior to his television career, Patrick was a prominent print journalist and part-time author (he co-authored Futures Stock and Financial Survival For Australians).
Patrick is a founding director and the Chairman of the Kokoda Track Foundation Ltd (see Links), an Australian philanthropic organisation that aims to repay the selfless help given to Australia during World War II by the beloved Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels of Papua New Guinea by helping to improve the lives and futures of their descendants.
Patrick and his wife Lisa Cotton split their time between Sydney and Coledale on the NSW south coast. He has three grown-up children, Nathan, Kate and Sarah.
