Kathleen Bowden is an Analyst and Assistant currently working alongside Phil Ruthven, Chairman and Founder of IBISWorld* - Australia's best-known business information, forecasting and strategic services corporation.
Kathleen contributes regularly to the research and analysis put forward by Phil Ruthven for his various public speaking events; keynote presentations and many media related contributions.
She started her career in the mid 1980s. From humble beginnings in the head office of a large Australian Bank, she spent the next 10 years working up to Administrative/Line Management roles within a diverse range of industries.
In the early 1990s, she traveled to Canada on a working holiday, landing in Vancouver. Falling in love with the city, she settled down for almost 2 years, working for a media conglomerate.
Upon returning to Australia she enjoyed various roles, including: development and management of a Teller Relief Program for a major Australian Bank; Assistant to the Principal Engineer of the Royal Children's Hospital & Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne; and HR specialist & assistant on the AWB's business process review.
In 1999, she was offered the role of EA to Phil Ruthven, Chairman of IBISWorld, a move which has lead to an extraordinary career opportunity.
Over the past 6 years, Kathleen has shown a desire to understand and apply analyses of economic, industry and company data, and she has also shown an aptitude for strategy and strategic analysis.
Expanding her role through formal and self education, motivation and hard work; she has moved into the challenging and rewarding position of Analyst and Researcher, as well as remaining Executive Assistant to Phil Ruthven.
Kathleen is mid-way through her Bachelor of Business in Economics and Finance; and has successfully completed a Graduate Certificate in Applied Business.
