Ali Moore began her career as a journalist over 20 years ago at 3LO (now 774 ABC Melbourne), after completing a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University. In 1992, following 6 years with the radio news and current affairs team, she ventured north to Beijing as the ABC's China Correspondent.

In 1996 Ali moved to Channel Nine, where she spent a decade reporting and subsequently hosting the highly regarded weekly business current affairs program Business Sunday, covering stories in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, London and Slovenia.

From Nine, Ali returned home to the ABC in 2006 to host the new Lateline Business program. Ali is known to 774 listeners having completed regular stints presenting both Drive and Mornings over the past 12 months.

People often ask why Ali does radio in Melbourne, when for now she lives in Sydney. The answer is simple. Melbourne is the city she grew up in, the city that is still home, and the city she understands more than any other.

While Ali has made a career interviewing people around the world - whether they be a CEO, a politician, or the local shopkeeper - she says talking to people who live in Melbourne and make it what it is, is a privilege.
