Yumi Stynes is a popular author, broadcaster and TV presenter. This year she is co-hosting the radio show The 3pm Pickup on KIIS FM on weekday afternoons. She is also host of the award-winning ABC podcast ‘Ladies, We Need to Talk’ which digs deep into taboos that often shackle women.

She has written two feminist cookbooks, ‘The Zero Fucks Cookbook’ and ‘Zero Fucks – Endless Summer’ which have been on national best-sellers lists, are still in-stores, and has a book out this August on how to “handle your period like a boss” called ‘Welcome To Your Period’. This is a guidebook aimed at young girls and their mothers. Last year Yumi fronted the documentary ‘Is Australia Sexist?’ and this year will present a similar (still-secret) project.

Yumi kick-started her career back in 2000 when she won the Channel [V] music reporter search and overnight became an Australian household name. During this time Yumi was also writer for print magazines, TV shows and a contributor to books. She went on to join Network Ten’s Logie-winning morning show, The Circle.

In 2011, Yumi was part of the team who launched ARN’s successful 3PM Pick-Up – a show that speaks directly to mums and makes that hectic after-school run just a little bit more entertaining. Yumi combines a unique take on the world with a natural joyfulness. Her life experiences, from being a mother of four, to growing up half-Japanese in rural Australia, or being in a rock band; have all made her a versatile, intelligent and witty presenter. She knows what it feels like to be a busy Mum with a million things on the go!

Yumi can be heard right across the KIIS Network sharing her afternoons with co-hosts Monty Dimond and Kate Langbroek every weekday from 3 – 4pm.
