Dr Kausman's medical practice is unique. He deals exclusively with patients who have difficulties with weight management and eating behaviour, and he takes a multi-disciplinary approach in the management of his patients.
This involves working with a dietitian, psychologists, psychiatrists, an exercise specialist and a chef, if and when it is appropriate for the individual.
Dr Kausman is a regular speaker at both corporate and medical conferences. He has spoken for Australia Post at their Corporate Health Program and for The Body Shop, as well as speaking engagements at The Royal Children's and The Royal Women's Hospital.
Dr Kausman is an Executive Council member of the Australasian Society for the Study of Obesity and a committee member of the Victorian Health funded Body Image & Health Inc.
He is an Australian Medical Association spokesperson on eating behaviour and nutrition and is regularly interviewed by the print media, television and radio, across Australia. In 1998 he launched his first book entitled ‘If Not Dieting, Then What?' published by Allen and Unwin.
