An organisational sociologist, Attracta has 20 years experience working with the Boards and senior management of many of Australia's government enterprises. Her work involves designing and facilitating large scale values and ethics training programs with the goal of nurturing high performance workplace cultures. She has also designed and undertaken values and cultural audits of government enterprises as a precursor to organisational change programs.
Attracta has facilitated the development of mission statements, values and ethics protocols for many enterprises across sectors including commercial, government, faith based and not for profits.
She is the author of over 80 published articles in the broad area of workplace values, ethics and sustainability and is a recognised advocate and opinion leader in the applied ethics field. She is a frequent media and industry commentator and is recognised as an innovative thinker. She has been invited to speak at international conferences in Europe and North America and has worked in Asia and throughout Australia.
Attracta's current management book, 3D Ethics, provides a blue print for the effective management of the ethical domain of modern workplaces. It was selected as one of the top business books of 2006 by the Australian Financial Review BOSS magazine. Her previous book, Why Ethics Matters was one of the first applied ethics books published in Australia specifically for the business community.
Attracta was the founding director of consulting services at the St James Ethics Centre before going on to head up KPMG's National Ethics & Sustainability practice for several years. She was also a founding director of the Australian ethical investment movement.
She has designed and facilitated ethical and values training programs on behalf of many as leading private sector organisations as well as public sector institutions.
Attracta has also conducted organizational cultural audits on behalf of some 14 major enterprises and worked alongside executive teams as they drafted their organizational values and business principle statements.
Attracta has also provided ethics advisory services to several government enterprises and this advice has ranged from establishing protocols and selecting Commissioners to sitting on Ethics Review Boards.
