Wayne Peace played 192 Rugby League first grade games for the Balmain Tigers between 1980 and his retirement in 1990.

He captained the club for seven seasons which included four successive Panasonic Cup Finals (1985-1988) and two grand finals (1988 and 1989). At representative level, Wayne played fifteen State of Origins for New South Wales.

He captained the Blues from 1985 to 1988, including the first ever State of Origin clean sweep in 1986. In 2000 he became the first ever person to both captain and coach a series clean sweep, when the blues side rewrote the record books in a 3-0 series white-wash.

Wayne is widely regarded as an innovator, both as a player and as a coach. As a player he used the knowledge accrued from his university science degree to pioneer a scientific approach to training and diet. It wasn't long before other players and the code in general followed his ideas.

Currently, Wayne devotes much of his time to sharing his thoughts on leadership with the corporate world.
