Vanessa Grimm anchors the weekend edition of NewsDay on SKY NEWS Live.

A proud member of the SKY NEWS team for more than a decade, Vanessa has anchored an array of programs including; First Edition, News Night, and National News. She was also the Executive Producer of SKY NEWS flagship political program Agenda in 2004.

Vanessa has helped bring Australians many of the major news events of recent times – as Australia went to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and as global events such as the Arab Spring uprising and terror attacks in London and Bali reshaped international affairs.

Vanessa also anchored the channel's live coverage of natural disasters including the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, the Boxing Day tsunami, the Christchurch earthquake, Queensland's floods, the New South Wales Bushfire Emergency and Victoria's Bushfire disaster.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in journalism and psychology, Vanessa began her 18-year journalistic career as a Researcher for the ABC's 7:30 Report.

She later became a Reporter for Prime News on the Gold Coast and at Newcastle, where she covered major events including the closure of the city's major employer BHP and the 1998 Waterfront dispute. It was during this time that Vanessa received a Prodi Walkley Foundation Award for Best News Story of the Year.

In the year 2000 Vanessa accepted a role as the Court and Crime Reporter at NBN News in Newcastle and the following year presented NBN's Late Edition News.

The Brisbane-born journalist moved to Sydney in 2002 to join National Nine News, before moving to SKY NEWS in early 2003.

Outside of work, Vanessa has worked as a volunteer fire-fighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service, is a keen sailor, cheese lover and freelance travel writer. She celebrated the birth of her son Hugh in 2006 and son Nathanael in 2013.

A self confessed news junkie, Vanessa lives with her partner and fellow journalist Nick Grimm, their combined four children and a Labrador called Rufus.
