A Cross-cultural Consultant, Tasneem was listed as “One of 16 Women To Watch in 2016" by Latte magazine. In previous years she has been listed in The Age Magazine’s Top 100 most influential 'Movers and Shakers' in Melbourne and The Australian Magazines 'Top Ten thinkers'.

Through her consultancy, Tasneem emcees events, speaks professionally and tailors sessions on cultural competence and diversity across the private and public sector. Her clients range from corporations and the judiciary, to galleries, government, the media and festivals.

She is a Director on the Board of Ambulance Victoria, and Board Chairs both Lentil As Anything and the Australian Muslim Women’s Centre for Human Rights. She also sits on the Missen Foundation and is the outgoing Senior Curator at the Islamic Museum of Australia.

A TEDxMelbourne presenter and writer, Tasneem’s latest paper was the Griffith Journal for Law & Human Dignity’s, ‘Burqas, Bombs and Bogeymen’ highlighting media bias against Australian Muslims. In 2013 she contributed to the anthology Coming of Age: Growing Up Muslim in Australia (Allen & Unwin) with her chapter, ‘How I Happened’.

She has a Masters in International Development, a background in psychology and sociology and has worked in community development and politics over the past two decades.

Tasneem’s has appeared in numerous editorial outlets, including The Guardian, The Australian and the Sydney Morning Herald and has featured as a commentator on national radio, Q&A, The Project and is a regular panellist on The Drum.
