Ange Lavoipierre is the ABC's National Technology Reporter, and a versatile media personality.

As an investigative reporter at the ABC's Background Briefing program, she specialised in Artificial Intelligence. She is also the host and creator of Schmeitgeist, the critically acclaimed ABC podcast exploring major trends and phenomena in tech and culture. Ange is regularly featured as a commentator on ABC TV's News Breakfast, as well as primetime segments on ABC Radio Sydney, ABC Radio Melbourne and RN. Ange has more than 15 years of experience as a news and current affairs journalist at the national broadcaster, and hosted The Signal, the ABC's award-winning daily news podcast until 2021. She has reported on elections in Myanmar, murder trials and federal politics. Her investigations have uncovered high level corruption in the RSL and price gouging in ADHD psychiatry.

Ange is also an award-winning comedian who has toured her shows extensively around Australia and in the UK. She's written for Gruen (ABC TV) and moonlights as the cello accompanist for acclaimed improv outfit Bear Pack (Steen Raskopoulos & Carlo Ritchie). Her work as a performer spans stand up, character, sketch, musical improv, absurdism and autobiography, tackling themes ranging from a childhood in evangelical Christianity, ADHD, queerness, surviving leukaemia, and mental illness. Ange has a dynamic presentation style, with loads of personality on stage and a gift for making complex subject matter engaging to a wide audience.

Ange has moderated, hosted, and interviewed key talent as part of many live events for key cultural institutions, such as Vivid Sydney, SXSW Sydney, Edinburgh Book Festival, Sydney Writers Festival, The Wheeler Centre, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and The University of Melbourne. One time, she played the cello at Natalie Portman's birthday.
