Kerri Pottharst is renowned for being one of the fiercest competitors in the world of Volleyball.
She is also Australia's most decorated Indoor and Beach Volleyball player and the only woman to have played professionally in the world's most prestigious A1 Italian Indoor Volleyball league.
In 1992 a knee injury should have ended her career, but in her typical no-nonsense style she recovered late in 1993, and changed her goals to Beach Volleyball
That decision resulted in her pairing with Natalie Cook in 1994, to become the No. 1 Australian Beach Volleyball team, a ranking she has maintained since then.
Olympic success was immanent, with the pair winning a Bronze medal at the Atlanta Olympic games, and the memorable coveted GOLD MEDAL from the Sydney Olympic Games.
Kerri and her partner historic victory over their Brazilian rivals that day at Bondi Beach, will forever remain one of the true highlights of the 2000 Games.
Recently retired from 20 years of international level competition she continues to be an inspiration to her piers in sport and to others in their business, school and personal lives.
Her warm and personal presentations include her fight back and struggle to overcome her injury, her determination to turn the Olympic Bronze medal into Gold and how she constantly set higher goals to achieve success.
