Tony Barber is best known has the long time host of Channel Nine's "Sale of the Century".
Having previously hosted "Temptation" and "Family Feud", after an eleven year stint with "Sale", Tony moved onto "Jeopardy" and finally to the immensely popular "Wheel of Fortune".
Born in England in 1940, Tony says he owes much of his "all-rounder entertainer" tag to a loving Irish grandma and a whole street full of Aunties who kept the spirits high during the dark years of World War 2.
By the end of 1962 Tony was Perth's leading DJ, then moving onto regular talent quests and compere roles.
However it was as the "Cambridge Whistler", the central character in a TV cigarette ad that he first came under national scrutiny and more importantly the eye of Bruce Gyngell of the Grundy Organisation, who asked Tony to host the daytime show "Temptation".
Tony estimates he has hosted over 8500 individual episodes of successful Grundy Games.
In 1991 Tony was awarded an OAM in the Queens Birthday Honours for services to the community through the entertainment industry.
As a consummate Host and Master of Ceremonies, the demand for Tony's services in the corporate sector is constant.
