During his 40 year career, Michael Caton has performed in television, theatre and film both here in Australia and abroad.
His television appearances range from leads in international series’ such as ‘Dossa and Joe ' to ‘Bad Cop Bad Cop’. Other television credits include ‘The Sullivans’, ‘Stingers’, ‘Flying Doctors’, ‘The Les Darcy Story’, ‘Great Expectations’, ‘Blue Heelers’, ‘All Saints’, ‘Wildside’, and ‘A Country Practice’. Michaeil Caton has also appeared in the mini-series ‘Never Tell Me Never’ and ‘Shadows of the Heart’.
One of the highlights of Michael’s film career was playing the legendary role Darryl Kerrigan in the much loved (and much quoted) feature film ‘The Castle’. Other lead roles in feature films includes ’Strange Bedfellows’ with Paul Hogan, ‘The Animal’ with Rob Schneider (Shot on location in Los Angeles), ‘The Inteview’, ‘The 13th Floor’, ‘Monkey Grip’, and ‘Hood Winked’
Michael’s list of theatre credits includes ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Hair’, ’Three Penny Opera’, ’Move over Mr’s Markham’, ’Between the Lines’, ‘The Stripper’, ‘Sexual Perversity in Chicago’, ‘Floating World’, ‘Tooth of Crime’, ‘Girls Night Out’, ‘Cowardly Custard’, ‘Gentlemen of Verona’, ‘Salad Days’, and ‘The Canterbury Tales’.
Michael Caton has been presented with numerous awards, such as the Australian Film Industry Award and the Logie Award for Best Supporting Actor in ‘The Sullivans’, Sydney Morning Herald Star of the Year Award for ‘Strange Bedfellows’, as well as a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for ‘The Castle’.
Michael recently concluded a run of sell out performances in the musical ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’. This year Michael has been shooting ‘Packed to the Rafters’ and ‘Hot Property’ for the Seven Network.
