"If Jana Wendt is the perfumed steamroller, Rachel Berger is the manicured bulldozer." - The Age

"Astute and biting social observation" - The Bulletin

Rachel Berger is widely acknowledged as one of Australia's finest stand up comedians. Her material is political, psychological and socially conscious. It encompasses contemporary lifestyles, offering an hilarious and poignant exposé of human foibles. Her dynamic presence and engagingly sharp observations have made her an extremely popular performer, both live and on television, across Australia and overseas.

In 1989, Rachel was part of an Australian contingent at the Edinburgh Festival. Their show, "Dog's Breakfast", sold out. Rachel was the first Australian to be selected for London's prestigious NICARAGUA BENEFIT CONCERT, performing alongside the best of American and British stand ups such as Will Durst, Simon Fanshawe and Arnold Brown. Rachel has subsequently returned to Britain annually making numerous television appearances and performing on the London cabaret circuit. A highlight was being invited to perform with actor, Robbie Coltrane; jazz saxophonist, Courtney Pine; and comedian, Will Durst on a 'live to air' radio broadcast hosted by Jonathan Ross on BBC1 direct from the famed Ronnie Scotts Tavern.

Rachel Berger appears regularly on national television. Credits include Tonight Live, The Big Gig, The Midday Show, Hey Hey It's Saturday , The Denton Show and World Series Debating on the ABC. Rachel has written various articles for national publications, including The Age and New Woman magazine. Rachel currently writes a regular column for the Sunday Herald-Sun.

Rachel's high public profile has done much to establish the position of women in comedy, providing a distinctive voice for women's opinions and viewpoints.

It is the offbeat observation, the incisive knack of showing up everyday events for the ludicrous pantomimes they really are that separate the women from the girls...in this department, Rachel Berger is a real star..."
- The Guardian, London
