One of the most electrifying batsmen in international cricket over the past ten years, Dean Jones possesses some of the finest shots in cricket and is viewed by many as being the most damaging batsman in the world.

Dean Jones' cricket career has been nothing if not spectacular. A first Class debut in 1981/82 was followed by his first Test Match in 1984 on tour against the might of a West Indies team containing Viv Richards, Joel Garner and Malcolm Marshall.

Dean regards his 48 runs on a wet wicket in his first Test innings as perhaps the best he has played. Many others claim his legendary 210 against India in 1986 in the tied Madras test as the greatest innings ever played by an Australian. Perhaps Dean's memory of that match was dulled by his hospitalisation for dehydration immediately after his dismissal.

During his career of 52 tests, he scored 3631 runs at an average of 46.55 and took one wicket . In 95 Sheffield Shield matches, he has averaged 54.97, and has a highest score of 324 not out.

Dean is a brilliant fieldsman and runner between wickets. It is often overlooked that Dean missed a season early in his career due to knee reconstruction after a pre-season collision which Merv Hughes.

Dean Played Country cricket last winder as captain of Derbyshire, and led them to victory of their first County championship in 36 seasons.

Snubbed by the National selectors for the last two seasons, Dean's One Day average since the beginning of the 1994/95 summer is an incredible 80, and his Sheffield Shield average is 62.
