Janella Purcell is a qualified naturopath, nutritionist, herbalist and iridologist. She's also a vivacious and entertaining chef with a passion for wholesome and healthy eating. Dedicated to a core philosophy of food as medicine, Janella teaches us how to get the most out of our meals – and how to avoid the pitfalls!

Her new series, co-hosted with Gary Mehigan, ‘Good Chef, Bad Chef' is receiving rave reviews and proving to be very popular and timely. It screens on Channel 7, Monday to Friday at 3pm.

She is a polished performer who has had regular segments on Channel 9 (Today Show's Food Editor and Mornings with Kerri-Anne's Naturopath) as well as her own series on Foxtel's “How to” Channel (Janella Purcell's Get a Life). Janella combines amazing knowledge with a lot “spunk” and knows how to get even the unhealthiest of us healthy.


She has been working with wholefoods since childhood and special diets for the past ten years. Janella also runs a cooking school from her Naturopathic clinic in Surry Hills, where she teaches the fundamentals of fast, nutritious and interesting food designed for the individual, family or group.

Janella is the author of Elixir – an easy to read, top selling book (nominated ‘Best Health & Nutrition) book by the World Food Media Awards in 2005) providing a great resource for food as medicine for all ailments and just great advice on how to live a healthier life.

Janella's second book, ‘Recipes for the Seasons' (working title) is due out July 2006.
