As the entertainment reporter for the "KTLA Morning News," the highest rated locally produced morning program in the country, Sam Rubin has established a reputation as someone who goes beyond the entertainment headlines of the day. His insights and exploration of the deeper meaning and impact of the stories within the entertainment industry generate conversation within the business, as well as outside it.

Rubin hosts the Emmy-nominated "Live From The Academy Awards," syndicated nationally by Tribune Entertainment, and "Sneaks," a series of movie preview shows produced in conjunction with the Los Angeles Times.

Rubin is a recipient of a Golden Mike Award for Best Entertainment Reporter from the Radio & Television News Association and, as part of the "KTLA Morning News," team earned an Associated Press Television-Radio Award for Best News Broadcast.

In addition to his activities at KTLAWB, Rubin also reports for Tribune's WGN-TV in Chicago. Nationally, Rubin provides reports for "On Air With Ryan Seacrest," "Show Buzz," and CNN. On the radio, Rubin reports for Los Angeles' KNX-AM.

Other credits include reporting for and producing Fox Television Network's "Personalities" and "Fox Entertainment News;" producing "The Entertainment Report," which is syndicated in the United States and internationally; and entertainment reporting for "Mike & Maty," "Good Morning America/Sunday Edition," and "America's Talking" on CNBC.

Off the air, Rubin supports various non-profit organizations including putting together a KTLA/WB team for the annual Multiple Sclerosis 150 Bay to Bike Tour, the premiere cycling event in Southern California raising funds to find a cure for MS. He also is interested in revitalizing Los Angeles' schools and, to that end, supports literacy programs and events promoting literacy such as the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

Rubin is the co-author of two biographies, one on former First Lady Jacqueline Onassis and one on actress Mia Farrow. He has been published in a variety of periodicals including McCall's, Home and the Los Angeles Times.

Rubin received his Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and Rhetoric at Occidental College in Los Angeles, where he currently resides. He is the father of two daughters, Perry and Rory.
