Social Entrepreneur, Jeremy Meltzer, has sailed across the Atlantic, lived in Havana, climbed the Himalayas, run from guerrillas in Colombia and sung his way into the hearts of Miami's Latin community. And this was before he was 21.
In 2005, Jeremy and his father started making olive oil on their family farm in Yellingbo, Yarra Valley. Jeremy has grown Yellingbo Gold Extra Virgin Olive Oil into the most successful premium Australian olive oil in the US, as well as the first to be sold in William Sonoma, the largest high-end US chain of kitchenware stores.
How Jeremy achieved this, in the largest marketplace on earth, pioneering a product that no one wanted - who had heard of Australian olive oil? - is a colorful story of passion, determination, and thinking outside many boxes with many lessons learnt.
For many years, Jeremy has also been passionate about the empowerment and protection of women. He is a White Ribbon Ambassador and is currently working on projects with several of the most impactful women's development agencies in the world, including the UN and Women for Women International.
Jeremy is now incorporating his passion into his business, creating a groundbreaking online Corporate Social Responsibility platform that turns every customer into a philanthropist. He sees huge untapped potential for this model that not only supports great causes, but attracts new customers. Jeremy believes 'consumer-driven philanthropy' will change the face of business in the next five years, a trend already emerging in the US.
Jeremy has appeared on the Martha Stewart Show, Fox News, ABC TV and in numerous Australian and US newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times and The Washington Post. Jeremy was recently featured in Esquire Magazine's Black Book Edition as one of the 'ten key men to watch'.
