Amanda Stevens

Travels From:
Sydney

Fee Range: B

As she describes it, Amanda never wanted to start a company. At 21 years of age, she was in between contracts picking up freelance work in direct marketing.

Freelancing became full-time, and she found herself having to hire staff to help cover the workload. Her accountant set her up as a company and lo and behold, she had a small direct marketing consultancy.

Splash Consulting Group was doing well, but Amanda realised that if it was going to grow, it needed to specialise. Amanda and her partner were moving house when they discovered they both had a copy of the book Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. Flicking through the book, she had a flash of the blinding obvious.

If those differences should be taken into account in a relationship, then they should be taken into account in marketing. Amanda, started researching gender differences in the brain. Two years later, Amanda launched SheMarketing methodology, which explores the key differences between men and women and how these differences drive responses to marketing.

Splash is now the only communications consultancy in Australia that markets specifically to women. Splash were the first consultancy in Australia to specialise in marketing to women and have arguably the most in-depth data bank on Australian women and what makes them tick.

Females now make over 80% of all consumer purchase decisions, in addition to a growing number of decisions in industries such as banking and finance, automotive and insurance.

Based on proven scientific research, input from leading gender neurologists as well as detailed case studies, Amanda delivers an energetic session on SheMarketing or SheSelling, a practical methodology with a step-by-step approach for attracting, retaining and maximising a loyal female customer base. During this highly interactive and often humurous presentation, Amanda will draw on recent, industry-specific examples and case studies to provide actionable insights and applicable solutions on capturing the hearts and minds of female prospects.

During her presentation, Amanda covers;
* How men and women differ and its application to marketing
* The Psychology of women - how they think, feel and why they buy
* The latest in social and demographic trend research affecting modern women
* A proven step-by-step approach for attracting, retaining and maximising a loyal female customer base, with detailed examples and case studies

In 2000 Amanda was named Young Businesswoman of the Year by Sydney
Business Review and won the 2002 Young Australian of the Year Award for
Career Achievement. In 2003 Amanda was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Governor General for business innovation.
