Unitl 2006 Indira presented ABC TV's viewer comments program FEEDBACK? which aired nationally twice a week. Before returning to the ABC in 2005, Indira was the presenter of SBS Television's highly regarded national mid-evening news service the “World News Tonight”

During her three years as anchor, Indira interviewed a number of world and regional leaders including Sein Finn's Gerry Adams, East Timorese leaders Xanana Gusmao and Jose Ramos Horta, and former Indonesian President Abdurrahmin Wahid.

Before joining SBS TV in 1998, Indira was the host of the ABC's national ‘LATE EDITION NEWS” from September 1995 until October 1997 and fill-in presenter for Sydney ABC's weekend and weekday 7pm news.

The South African-born journalistic career with ABC TV News in Adelaide where she served her cadetship after studying journalism at the University of SA.

During her seven years with the ABC, Indira covered all major news reporting rounds including politics, reported for and hosted the Adelaide state-based 7.30 Report, and also presented the ABC's award-winning children's current affairs show BEHIND THE NEWS.

Indira has won five awards in her 11-year-career:

¨1994 Dalgety Award for Excellence in Rural Journalism (SA),
¨1995 runner-up Better Hearing Australia(SA) Clear Speech Award,
¨1996 Better Hearing Australia(NSW Branch) Clear speech Award
¨1999 Rotary Club of Australia Citizenship Award for contributions to Reconciliation.

Indira's television forays haven't been limited to news broadcasting. During her time at the ABC, Indira became a regular guest on ROY and HG's CLUB BUGGERY, GOOD NEWS WEEK, THE MCFEAST SHOW, RACE AROUND THE WORLD and THE GLASS HOUSE.

She is also a much sought after speaker, MC and conference moderator.
