Madeline Hayman-Reber

Madeline Hayman-Reber is a Gomeroi woman, who was born on her own country, and raised on Gomeroi, Eora, and Gundungurra lands.

She began her career as a journalist at 17-years-old as a cadet at the Goulburn Post, before working at Fairfax Regional Digital, and Deadly Vibe Magazine.

Madeline began working at NITV News in August 2016, based out of Sydney before transferring to Naarm (Melbourne) in 2018.

Her passion for storytelling lies in social justice and truth telling for First Nations Australians.

In 2018 she won both a Human Rights Award and a First Nations Media Award for helping to expose the criminal convictions received by Stolen Generation.

Madeline is passionate about mob telling their own stories and has worked across many publications including Fairfax Media, Deadly Vibe, NITV/SBS, was Media Advisor to Senator Lidia Thorpe, 10 News First Melbourne, Triple RRR Melbourne, and Children’s Ground as First Nations Communications and Partnerships Manager.

An adept MC and facilitator, Madeline is also part of Media Diversity Australia's Victorian Chapter.
