Things turn out best for those who make the best of the way things turn out.
There is no better person able to talk us through the above thought, than four-time survivor of near death experiences, Tony Purkiss.
Born in Armidale, Tony is married to Mary-Anne and has two children Luke and Skye. Tony spent 13 years in the banking and finance industry, has worked in hotel management and was a newsagent at Charlestown Square for 12 years.
Tony was also Hon Treasurer at the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club and Secretary Manager of the Toronto Royal Motor Yacht Club.
On the day, Tony will tell you his story which includes surviving the 1998 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and surviving the 2005 Bali bomb blast. Tony is legally blind, yet his vision for the future is an active, exciting and positive one. Although he has lost his sight, he has not lost sight of his goals.
Be inspired by Tony's experiences, his inner strength, and how the
love of family, friends and community have helped him sail full sail ahead in
his life.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
