Dr Michelle Olaithe (PhD) is a clinical psychologist, researcher, author, and sought-after speaker who inspires audiences to rethink how sleep and mental health shape every part of life. With a career spanning clinical practice, academic research, and leadership, Michelle has become a trusted voice on the links between sleep, mental health, and neurodivergence.
Michelle is the founder The Sleep Psychologist and clinical consultant to RippleAbility and HealthBright, where she leads innovative programs to improve wellbeing for neurotypical and neurodivergent people, parents of children with complex disabilities, and Australia’s First Nation ccommunities. Her research projects include Let’s Yarn About Sleep (culturally safe sleep health programs), RippleAbility (carer coaching and respite), and Sound Asleep (using sound to improve sleep and cognition). Collectively, her work has attracted more than $5.2 million in grant funding, produced over 30 peer-reviewed publications, and driven policy and clinical change.
A natural communicator, Michelle has presented at TEDx, the Growth Faculty, and Sleep Down Under, and regularly features in media including Channel 7, Channel 9, The Morning Show, ABC Radio, and The Conversation. Her Conversation article on napping became one of the most read and shared from UWA, reaching over 299,000 readers worldwide, and translated into other languages.
She is a recognised leader in digitalmental health, having directed governance and clinical quality systems for a 250-strong workforce, and is endorsed as both a Clinical Psychologist and a Board-Approved Supervisor.
