Gry Stene has been speaking on in-person and online stages for over 15 years, from community forums and
industry panels to national conferences and international events. With forty years inside technology, from her first AI studies at the University of Manchester in 1986 to leading global transformation programs across six continents today, her work spans mining, energy, manufacturing, transport, logistics, health, education, and government.
Her career has been deeply international from the start. She began as a developer in Oslo, spent seven years at Oracle in Norway and Australia working with early AI and natural language processing, then went on to lead complex enterprise programs across Norway, the UK, China, India, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Sweden, Canada, the US, and Australia. She set up offshore engineering teams in Chennai and Hyderabad, delivered what was at the time claimed to be the largest EDI integration solution in the world for China's Ministry of Communications and COSCO Shipping, and served as Chief Product Officer at Moodle, the most widely used learning management system in the world, leading a global product organisation across continents.
Her work centres on a powerful insight: innovation stalls when not all thinking is activated.
In many organisations, ideas stay quiet, risks go unspoken, and valuable perspectives never surface. Meetings are dominated by a few voices while hidden insight remains untapped. In the age of AI, this is no longer a soft cultural problem. When people stop contributing, organisations lose signal, and AI amplifies whatever signal is left.
Gry's work shows leaders that inclusion is the catalyst that unlocks that potential. Not as a compliance exercise. As a leadership capability that fuels innovation and real-world impact.
Through her signature keynote Unleashing Potential and her book Full Throttle and Torque, Gry explores how inclusive leadership and psychological safety create cultures where ideas flow and difference becomes a strategic advantage.
Gry is also the creator of rAIse IT right™, a practical leadership framework inspired by Mo Gawdat's idea that we should raise AI as we raise a child, guiding it with the values we want in our communities: responsibility, alignment, intentionality, simplicity, empowerment, integrity, and training.
Her sessions are dynamic, metaphor rich, and fast-paced, blending research, humour, real-world stories from six continents, and practical leadership tools audiences can apply immediately.
A bilingual Norwegian-Australian and passionate advocate for neurospicy brilliance and hidden talent, Gry is on a mission to make innovation inclusive, visible, and human again.
Organisations don't just bring Gry in to speak. They bring her in to help their people think bigger, contribute more, and unlock the potential already inside their teams.
