Sabra is a highly respected journalist, television and radio presenter, and independent podcaster.
For nine years she presented the influential flagship radio program ‘AM’. She also was chief political correspondent for the TV program 7:30, reporting on federal politics and national affairs, and occasionally presented the program. She’s co-hosted election coverage on radio – for the 2022 and 2025 national elections - and in Tasmania she’s already co-hosted TV coverage of three Tasmanian state elections.
Sabra was also the president of the National Press Club of Australia, and in 2019 moderated a federal election leaders’ debate – the first woman to do so, solo.
She started her journalism career in the 80s in Adelaide working for commercial TV. She’s been an executive producer of a national TV program, and producer at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Now based in Hobart, she presents the weekend 7pm TV news for the ABC. In 2025 she started the podcast ‘The Blue Room’ about wild swimming and the people and grassroots communities who do it.
