Angela Hucker is a TEDx speaker, podcast host, and Founder & CEO of EPIC (Empowering People In Construction), a multi-award-winning social enterprise transforming the culture of Australia’s construction industry. Having spent nearly 30 years working across major projects, including almost a decade in FIFO environments, Angela doesn’t speak about construction from the outside. She speaks from lived experience, driven by a deep belief that people deserve to feel safe, respected, and valued at work.

Angela has worked across infrastructure, energy, civil, procurement, governance, and major projects, partnering with governments, Tier 1 contractors, and industry bodies to tackle some of construction’s most entrenched challenges. She has been named among the Top 100 Women in Construction, is a national award finalist and winner, and is a recognised leader in psychosocial safety, leadership capability, and culture transformation. Angela is also a proud ambassador for Women Building NSW and the host of the You Are EPIC podcast, where she interviews industry leaders from around the globe on safety, culture, and respect.

Angela understands the unspoken realities many leaders and workers carry like toxic behaviours that go unchecked, good people leaving the industry, leaders promoted without the people skills to lead, and workplaces that are technically safe but psychologically unsafe. She addresses the cost of bullying, harassment, inequity, burnout, and silence, not just to individuals, but to performance, retention, and organisational risk.

Through honest storytelling, evidence-based insight, and practical tools, Angela creates powerful aha moments that shift how people see leadership, safety, and responsibility. Audiences walk away understanding that culture is not “soft stuff,” it is the foundation of safety, productivity, and trust. Her work challenges people to move beyond compliance and into conscious, human-centred leadership that drives lasting change.

Angela’s speaking style is real, grounded, and deeply relatable. She blends straight-talking industry experience with warmth, clarity, and conviction, creating space for reflection without blame. Known for her ability to say the things others avoid, while still bringing people with her, Angela leaves audiences feeling challenged, empowered, and clear on the role they personally play in shaping better workplaces.
