Marianne Broadbent is Managing Partner at the major leadership advisory firm NGS Global. She has particular expertise in working with organisations to shape and develop strategic executive and team capabilities. Dr. Broadbent works in the commercial, government and not-for-profit sectors and has deep experience with technology, professional services, government and education-related businesses and executives. She is a Founding Partner of ARBITER Leadership Technologies�.

Dr. Broadbent has been working in the leadership, management and strategy areas for over 20 years, with a particular emphasis on advising executives and facilitating executive teams. She has the rare distinction of leading a successful international business career as well as interspersing this with a top level academic and throught leadership career.

Prior to her current NGS role, she was global Senior Vice President for New Product Development at Gartner, Inc., the world's leading information technology research and advice organisation. At Gartner, she was a leading force in the turnaround of Gartner's Research business. Earlier in her career at Gartner, she led the global team responsible for developing practice-based advice and research for Gartner's Executive Programs. She was awarded the prestigious title of 'Gartner Fellow'. Earlier, she led Gartner's executive services in the APAC region.

Dr. Broadbent was Associate Dean and held the Professorial Chair of Management (Information Systems) at Melbourne Business School, leading the School's Senior Executive MBA program. She worked extensively on talent management and succession planning with the School's industry clients, executives and managers. She was previously a professor and the foundation director for the Key Centre for Technology Management, during which time she led much of the school's executive education. She has also served as a visiting researcher at Boston University's School of Management, and completed ground-breaking research work on governance with faculty at MIT's Sloan School of Management.

Dr. Broadbent is co-author of two Harvard Business School Press 'best sellers', including The New CIO Leader: Setting the agenda and delivering results. She has an extensive publication record, ranging from regular columns about leadership and management, commentaries in The Financial Times (UK) and the Australian Financial Review, through to major 'A' list academic journals. She is a sought after speaker and facilitator at industry and corporate conferences around the world.

Dr Broadbent was the founder of Gartner's CIO Academy, now held about six times per year in North America, Europe and Asia. She has led her own consultancy company specialising in business and technology leadership and governance, and the integration and execution of corporate, business and functional strategies.
Dr. Broadbent is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of the Australian Library and Information Association. She has been on the Boards of CAVAL Ltd., and the Victorian College of the Arts and the Royal Children's Hospital's Advisory Technology Committee. She is co-founder of the Australian chapter of Social Venture Partners. She is regularly a Judge for The Australian Innovation Awards and was a finalist in the Telstra Business Women's Awards.

Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education from University of Sydney, Dip T.Lib from UTS, a Master of Arts from Macquarie University, an A.Mus.A. (AMEB) and a PhD from Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne.

On a personal level Marianne and her partner Robert have four adult children who themselves all have families.
