Brian Goorjian

American Brian Goorjian first came to Australia in 1977 to play for the Melbourne Tigers under Coach Lindsay Gaze.

He played for Lindsay for seven seasons before embarking on a coaching career.

He is rated by his peers as the most successful coach ever in NBL winning over 300 games with a winning percentage of 68%.

Brian is currently the head of the Sydney Kings and is in his 16th consecutive season as a Head Coach in the NBL.

In 2001 he was appointed Head Coach of the Australian Men's National team, "The Boomers", making him the first foreign born coach ever to be appointed to this position.

For the past 13 seasons his teams have reached the NBL semi finals, including appearing in a total of 7 Grand Finals.

He has also won the prestigious award for Coach of the Year on four occasions.

Brian has won 3 NBL Championships, the most recent being in 2003 with the Sydney Kings.

As a speaker Brian is considered one of the most entertaining and passionate of all the elite sports coaches.
