The inaugural Chairperson of the state's largest professional regulatory authority, the Victorian Institute of Teaching, Susan Halliday is known to many as a former Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Disability Discrimination Commissioner.

Susan's distinguished career spans public and private sector roles, and several prominent board memberships including nine years on the Board of the State Library of Victoria. Having established two successful companies, one in the area of discrimination and employment law, the other a springboard for child literacy projects, Susan pursues gender and human rights issues through every facet of her work. A Life Governor of the Australian Childhood Foundation and with a series of 10 books for young girls published and utilised widely throughout Australian schools, Susan shares her personal insights into the motto that one should always seek to improve society through one's work.
