Sandra Yates is one of Australia's most prominent and influential corporate businesswomen. With broadbased management experience in business, education and the arts, Sandra gives a unique perspective on contemporary communication issues.

Sandra is Chair of the NSW TAFE Commission Board, the largest provider of vocational education and training in the world. She is also Chair of the Sydney Writer's Festival and Books Alive!, an initiative of the Federal Government funded by the Australia council.

From 1996 to 2004, Sandra Yates was Chair of Saatchi & Saatchi, Australia's leading creative advertising agency. She currently continues her association with the company as a Board Member. She is a also Board Member of the NSW Major Events Board, whose charter is to attract major sporting and cultural events to NSW, and a Board Member of the Taronga Foundation, the fund-raising arm for both Taronga and Dubbo Plains Zoo.

From 1999-2003, Sandra Yates was a Board Member of the Advertising Federation of Australia (AFA). She remains an active member of the AFA's Ethics Committee, the creators of the world's first code of ethics for advertising.

Sandra Yates was President of Matilda Publications Inc. New York from 1987 to 1989. In 1988 with her then business partner, Dr. Anne Summers, Sandra led the second woman-led LBO in US corporate history to found Matilda Publications Inc, which published Sassy and the feminist icon Ms magazines for teenage girls.

In 2002, Sandra Yates was honoured with an appointment as an Officer in the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday honours. She also received a Centenary Medal from the Governor-General, which recognized the contribution of individuals to Australian society, at the beginning of the millennium.
