Helen McCabe is a journalist who has worked in the industry for more than 20 years. She is the former editor-in-chief of The Australian Women's Weekly; the country's biggest selling women and most iconic magazine. She began her career in television and radio before holding a number senior editorial roles in newspapers. She spent several years in Canberra as a political correspondent.

Helen McCabe was editor of the year in 2015 and during her six years transformed the Australian Women's Weekly magazine into an agenda setting title with provocative covers, and exclusive interviews. Under Helen's editorship the magazine won multiple awards including magazine of the year in 2014 Publish Awards. In 2013 the magazine launched a scholarship fund for young women.

Between 2006 and 2009 Helen worked as the Deputy Editor for The Sunday Telegraph, Australia's biggest selling newspaper.

From 2003 to 2006 Helen McCabe moved to News Limited's national broadsheet in 2003 where she took on the challenging role as Night Editor for The Australian under legendary editor-in-chief Chris Mitchell (retired) and editor Michael Stutchbury (EIC The Australian Financial Review)

After eight years in Canberra as a political journalist Helen McCabe moved to London between 1999 and 2001 as News Limited's European correspondent

Helen McCabe is a regular commentator on television and radio. In 2015 she presented the prestigious Andrew Olle lecture on journalism. She is on the board of Adopt Change and The Australian Indigenous Education Fund.
