Jen Robinson is one of the world's most respected human rights lawyers and advocates. She is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers in London, Europe's largest human rights practice. The most recent UK Chambers and Partners Guide described her as "one of a kind and the leading human rights lawyer of her generation."

Meanwhile, Daily Mail UK has described her as the real-life "Legally Blonde", one of "the sharpest legal brains in the land" and "the A-list's" go-to lawyer".

Jen has acted in key international law, human rights and media freedom cases in domestic and international courts. Her diverse and groundbreaking work includes defending WikiLeaks and Julian Assange and securing his release; acting for Amber Heard in relation to Johnny Depp's unsuccessful defamation claim in the UK; achieving political asylum for West Papuan leader Benny Wenda; and taking climate change to the world's highest court, the International Court of Justice.

Beyond the courts, Jen is an author and a sought-after keynote speaker, executive producer and consultant for television and film. She sits on the boards of the Grata Fund, the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights, and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at Oxford University. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including International Pro Bono Barrister of the Year in 2019, the 2024 Marie Claire Powerhouse of Year Award, which she shared with the Governor-General of Australia, Samantha Mostyn AC, and the Sydney Peace Prize in 2026, an award she shares with the likes of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the first female President of Ireland, Mary Robinson.

Her first book Silenced Women (UK, Hachette) and How Many More Women (Aus/NZ, Allen and Unwin) with Dr Keio Yoshida has been made into a feature documentary, Silenced, which follows Jen's work and cases around the world where survivors and journalists have been silenced by the law. It premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2026 as one of ten documentaries chosen from around the world in the World Cinema Documentary competition and is currently on the international festival circuit. Silenced will open the Sydney Film Festival in June 2026, as only the second feature documentary to open the festival in its 73-year history. Sydney Film Festival has described the film as "the most important Australian film of the year". It will have a theatrical release in Australia before being broadcast on the ABC in Australia and New Zealand, with international distribution deals to follow.

Jen's work is regularly covered in major international media in the UK, US, Australia and around the world and she has been profiled in magazines, including Vogue, GQ, Marie Claire, Grazia, Elle and others. For her work, she was recognised as a British GQ Hero in 2023 and was been listed by listed in Marie Claire Australia's special 25th-anniversary list, "25 Women to Define the Next 25 Years" in 2020, Vogue Australia as one of "21 Women to Watch in 2021", and Marie Claire Australia's special 30th anniversary list "30 Years, 30 Icons: the Definitive List of Australian Power Women" along with the likes of Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman, and Australia's first female Prime Minister, Julia Gillard.

Originally hailing from Australia, Jen is an outspoken advocate for public education in her home country, having herself attended government funded schools in rural and regional Australia, and established the Acacia Awards to support and mentor Australian public-school students.

She was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and is listed by the Rhodes Project as one of thirteen famous Rhodes women with Rachel Maddow, Naomi Klein and Susan Rice, as well as the list of well-known Rhodes men, including former US President Bill Clinton, former US Supreme Court Justice, David Souter, Australian Prime Ministers, Bob Hawke, Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull, and journalist Ronan Farrow.
