Dr Linda McIver is the Author of Raising Heretics: Teaching Kids to Change the World.
Selected as one of the inaugural Superstars of STEM by Science and Technology Australia, she has appeared on ABC's Q&A, and is regularly sought to 'educate the educators' throughout the sector.
Linda is a passionate STEM champion and advocate for equity and inclusion, she brings Data Science to life designing meaningful projects that empower those involved to solve problems and make a positive difference in the real world.
Linda has a PhD in Computer Science Education and lived experience as a secondary school teacher. She has created work that gives students a deep engagement in projects with scientists that contribute to research in fields such as cancer, marine biology, conservation ecology, and psychology.
Linda founded the Australian Data Science Education Institute in 2018 to give all students the chance to become excited about solving real problems and changing the world. In addition to speaking at events throughout Australia and internationally, she develops data science education resources with a focus on bettering our communities.
