Kieren Perkins is an Australian icon. A professional sportsman, his international swimming success and wholesome personality have made him a hero in Australia.

During 2 decades in the pool Perkins performed remarkable achievements. 11 world records, 2 Olympic gold, 2 Olympic silver and more than a dozen Commonwealth and World Championship medals cemented his place as a superb role model for all Australians.

His against-all-the-odds victory in the Men's 1500 metres at the Atlanta Olympics to claim back- to-back Gold medals remains one of Australia's highest ever television ratings events.

Perkins was also an integral member of the Australian delegation sent to Monaco in 1993 to bid for the 2000 Olympics. He and the bid team were successful and Sydney went on to host the 2000 Games.

Today, Perkins brings his courageous spirit to his future direction in the corporate world. He travels on the corporate speaking circuit as a motivational speaker.

A familiar media face Perkins has spent almost 2 decades in front of TV cameras. He has worked for Network 10 and Channel 7 and since retirement from competitive swimming has used his sporting experience and knowledge to contribute to commentary teams.

Having been selected as one of only 4 Olympic mentors, Kieren will be travelling to London with the Olympic team and staying in the village mentoring athletes for London 2012.
