At the Edinburgh Festival, Joel made a record breaking five invitation appearances on the prestigious Live Best Of The Fest Shows.

His one man show in Edinburgh was followed by a sell out season in Africa at the Zimbabwe International Festival.

For 26 weeks in 1999, Joel hid behind his creation Erik The Robot Dog as a regular on ABCTV.

Erik has since become a cult character with guest appearances on Music Channel 'V' and live shows for audiences ranging from the best clubs in town to performances for families and kids.

Joel started as a street performer. He spent four years on the road in Australia, Thailand, Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland, France and the UK, honing his skills in front of the toughest audiences in the world.

Already a killer juggler and comic improviser, Joel began developing new ideas, combining music and juggling. He unveiled his unique electronic big beat juggling in Sydney night clubs in 1998.

Joel has been developing juggling as music for a number of years. His 'JAMIDI' (Juggling Activated Musical Instrument Digital Interface) has astonished audiences, who find it hard to comprehend that a digital sampler triggered by juggling is mixing the beats live.

Erik The Dog was unveiled by Joel at the giant Glastonbury Festival in the UK in 1998, and made his first Australian appearance in 1999 at the National Circus Festival in Albury where he stole the show. Within a month he was on television.

Joel was also seen as a flying Master of Ceremonies on the harbour entertainment stage during the Sydney Olympic Games, an opportunity to exploit his combination of physical and verbal performing skills.

He performs live regularly throughout Australia, and internationally.
